No it’s now £15 for a 30 min ride for young children – minimum of 4 in a group.

We are staying at the farmhouse this coming weekend and would like to do some pony trekking/beach rides. 6 children aging from 4 to 12 and possibly a few adults, all novices. Can you let me know if you can accomodate us and at what cost?

Thanks for that, Andrea. We do offer beach rides and have direct private access to the beach. The rides are one hour and cost £30 per person. Our rides are private and we don’t put groups of unknown people together. They are taken by a very experienced rider. We can offer a ride out for a complete novice (on lead
rein) or more experienced riders who can walk, trot or canter independently.
The pace of the ride is dictated by the least experienced rider. I am sure you and your son would enjoy it. Please give me a call on 01229 588522 if you would like to book. Sunday tends to be are hacking out day at Moat.

Dear Sarah

Thank you so much for the enquiry. Unfortunately we cannot bring the horses to outside venues for the students to have rides for a variety of reasons the main one of which is of course insurance. We did do some very rewarding work with Barrow Sixth Form College students last summer in which they came to us in groups of four at a time (we usually hosted two to three groups of four a day) and they all had a riding lesson and then some stable management sessions. They highly enjoyed this.

If you would like me to arrange a day at Moat specifically for your students to come and have a look around and have a quick ride on a horse (either in our indoor school or on the beach – we have direct private access so no roadwork involved) then I would be more than happy to do this.

Hello, do you offer beach rides at weekends? I usually go riding with my son who is 7 at Grizedale at weekends, but that has closed down now, so we are looking for somewhere to ride together. We have shetlands at home, but he has been riding a fell pony at grizedale.

Can you help me please? I am e-mailing on behalf of Ulverston Victoria High School. We are holding a enrichment day/fun day for our students in July on our school field where we have outside agencies coming in to to different activities with the students Do you visit schools with horses for the students to have ‘rides’? I am not sure if this is something you do if so please could you contact me to discuss further.
